Where Exceptional Medicine Meets Genuine Compassion

Seeing the Full Picture Matters

Advanced imaging allows us to look beyond what can be felt on an exam or seen on routine testing. When answers aren’t clear, or when decisions carry real weight, imaging helps us understand what’s happening inside your pet’s body with greater accuracy and confidence.

At Upleash, advanced imaging isn’t used casually or automatically. It’s used intentionally, when it adds clarity, reduces uncertainty, or helps guide safer, more effective care.

The upleash approach

Why Advanced Imaging Is Important

Many medical and surgical decisions depend on truly understanding what’s happening internally. Advanced imaging can:

  • Clarify complex or confusing symptoms
  • Identify disease earlier and more accurately
  • Help determine whether surgery or medical management is appropriate
  • Guide treatment planning for heart disease, cancer, and chronic illness
  • Reduce unnecessary procedures or guesswork

When used appropriately, imaging often saves time, reduces stress for pets and families, and leads to better outcomes.

Imaging Modalities We Offer

Computed Tomography (CT)

CT imaging creates detailed, cross-sectional (“slice-by-slice”) images of your pet’s body, allowing us to see structures in three dimensions rather than as a single overlapping picture.

At Upleash, we use slice-based CT, which is the same type of CT technology used in human hospitals. Each image is captured in thin slices, then reconstructed into a highly detailed, accurate representation of your pet’s anatomy.

This matters because slice-based CT provides:

  • Greater image clarity and contrast
  • Better visualization of soft tissues and organs
  • More accurate measurements of masses or abnormalities
  • Improved detection of subtle disease

Some facilities use cone-beam CT, which captures a single large image rather than individual slices. While cone-beam CT can be useful for certain applications, it offers less detail and lower soft-tissue resolution compared to slice-based CT, which can limit its usefulness for complex medical, cancer, or surgical decision-making.

Slice-based CT is especially valuable for:

  • Cancer staging and treatment planning
  • Evaluation of chest and abdominal disease
  • Complex surgical planning
  • Bone and joint conditions
  • Situations where precision truly matters
Ultrasound

Ultrasound provides a real-time view of internal organs. It allows us to assess organ structure, blood flow, and movement, making it invaluable for many medical conditions.

Ultrasound is commonly used to:

  • Evaluate abdominal organs
  • Assess the heart and major blood vessels
  • Identify masses, fluid accumulation, or organ changes
  • Guide fine-needle aspirates or fluid sampling

Because ultrasound is non-invasive, it is often very well-tolerated by most pets.

Digital Radiography (X-Rays)

Digital radiographs remain an essential part of diagnostic medicine. They provide quick, high-quality images of the chest, abdomen, bones, and joints.

Radiographs are frequently used to:

  • Evaluate lungs and heart size
  • Evaluating the abdomen for organ size, bladder stones, foreign material, etc.
  • Screen for cancer spread
  • Assess orthopedic conditions
  • Monitor progression or response to treatment

Digital imaging allows for immediate review and careful interpretation in the context of your pet’s overall condition.

Expertise Matters as Much as Equipment

Advanced imaging is only as valuable as the experience behind it. Knowing what to image, how to obtain the correct views, and how to interpret findings accurately is what turns images into meaningful answers.

Our team has advanced training in ultrasound and imaging interpretation and works closely across disciplines, including cardiology, oncology, surgery, and radiology to ensure imaging findings are used appropriately and thoughtfully.

“Testimonials, as authentic endorsements from satisfied customers, serve as potent social proof, significantly inspiring trust in potential consumers.”
